Breastfeeding Educator

Opening for a full-time breastfeeding educator to work in a dynamic, fast-growing breastfeeding clinic. Position entails providing breastfeeding education to families, assisting Lactation Consultants, and providing customer service support.  

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Answer phone calls, take detailed messages, and distribute messages appropriately

  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and classes

  • Greet visitors in a professional manner, provide information, and direct accordingly

  • Monitor inventory of office supplies; distribute office supplies and restock retail shelves as necessary

  • Maintain and update company logs, policies, and procedures

  • Perform administrative support tasks, including, but not limited to, updating and sorting files, drafting and proofreading correspondence, and conducting research

  • Assist Lactation Consultant with specific duties such as: weighing infants, placing mother and infant skin to skin, assisting mothers with pumping, facilitating support group, assisting with classes, and charting.

  • Basic office cleaning: dust, sweep, mop, take out trash, etc.

  • Maintain rented scales and pumps with monthly service checks

  • Assist with performance improvement projects

  • Perform latch consults, pump consults and assists with breastfeeding support group.

  • Is timely to work and adheres to scheduling protocols, absenteeism and tardiness as outlined in Employee Manual.

  • Conducts follow-up phone calls, prospecting phone calls to both clients and healthcare professionals. 

  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

  • Completes work in a timely fashion.

  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Proof of Completion of Breastfeeding Educator/Peer Counselor Training

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Self-motivated and self-directed; able to work without supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), Google Drive

  • Previous experience required

  • Able to work in a team environment

Medical Billing Specialist

Opening for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to work in a dynamic, fast-growing breastfeeding clinic. Position entails submitting claims, reconsiderations and appeals as well as facilitating clinic to improve billing practices, establishing and maintaining credentialing with insurance providers, and assisting clients with billing questions and needs. Monday - Friday; flexible hours; 32-40 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure patient information is accurate and complete.

  • Request any missing patient information.

  • Review referrals and authorizations.

  • Confirm patient benefits and insurance.

  • Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations when necessary.

  • Checking eligibility and benefits verification.

  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtaining any missing information.

  • Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.

  • Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.

  • Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance.

  • Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary

  • Review accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.

  • Research and appeal denied claims.

  • Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.

  • Set up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.

  • Update spreadsheets and run collection reports.

  • Maintain a tracking system of incoming and late payments.

  • Respond to questions and complaints from patients, providers or insurance companies.

  • Follow-up on late or missed payment notices.

  • Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies.

  • File and maintain organized documentation of all billing and record.

  • Work with personal information and maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Manage relationships with various Insurance payers.

  • Responsible use of confidential information.

  • Regularly meet with Account Manager to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues or billing obstacles.

  • Regularly attend monthly staff meetings and continuing educational sessions as requested.

  • Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisory or Management team. 

  • Assist with credentialing process.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in accounting, health care administration, finance, business, or related field preferred

  • Two (2) years’ previous experience as a medical biller or in a related healthcare administrative position preferred

  • Experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding; familiarity with medical terminology.

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Self-motivated and self-directed; able to work without supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel); working knowledge of billing software a plus

  • Strong customer service skills and comfortable answering both patient and insurance company questions

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
