Breastfeeding doesn't always come naturally and can be very challenging in the early weeks. An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) can help you overcome these struggles and guide you on the road to reaching your breastfeeding goals. Here are a few reasons to seek assistance from an IBCLC:
- Milk supply concerns including low milk supply, oversupply, and weaning support.
- Breast and nipple pain, nipple trauma, mastitis, engorgement, plugged ducts, and thrush.
- Returning to work and pumping assistance including pump fit evaluation, making the most out of your breast pump, storage and handling of breast milk, pumping at work and your rights, pumping schedule for returning to work, tips on offering your baby a bottle.
- Special concerns such as adoption and induced lactation, lactation after infant loss, colic/reflux, food allergies/sensitivities, unresolved fussiness, prematurity, multiples and tandem nursing and medical/anatomical issues.
- Baby weight concerns such as slow weight gain, poor growth, and supplemental feeds.
- Latch concerns such as infant not latching, suck dysfunction, oral motor issues, tongue/lip tie, structural concerns and breast or bottle refusal.
- Older baby concerns such as the ABC's of starting solids, nutrition/growth concerns, sleep concerns, distraction, teething and weaning.
What Does IBCLC Mean?
The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification is recognized as the Gold Standard for health professionals working with breastfeeding women. IBCLCs have passed a fully accredited examination set by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). Prerequisites for the board examination include thousands of hours of clinical work and educational credits in Anatomy & Physiology, Cultural Diversity, Psychology & Counseling, Child Development, and Nutrition. All IBCLCs are required to provide evidence-based lactation support and adhere to the IBLCE’s Professional Standards.
***The Affordable Care Act of 2012 requires coverage of lactation consulting as a “Women’s Preventive Service.” Many health insurance companies reimburse for private lactation consultations. Please contact your insurance provider for specifics on your insurance coverage. My Pure Delivery is in-network with Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Tricare,
ARIA/Mediview, and BCBS. For all other insurance providers, a reimbursement form known as a superbill will be provided for you to submit to your health insurance provider.***

I was so lucky to find my pure delivery.
From the very first call I was impressed with the knowledge and compassion showed by the person in the phone. I was almost in tears cause my breast feeding experience was not going great and she gave me immediate valuable advise and put me at ease.
Then I met ORIETA, my lactation consultant whom I owe ALL of my success in breastfeeding. She is so awesome.
Very knowledgeable with a Great personality, professional, organized, and efficient, Orieta would always answered questions promptly after visits and make me feel confident.
I loved how she sent the summary of visits right away and a note to my baby pediatrician too.
Always had lots of advise regarding all details of the process and recommended some great gear.
She is fully bilingual and was very comfortable and quick switching back and forth with my English speaking husband and Spanish speaking mother during visits.
I cannot simply thank her enough and highly recommended her.
I am so happy I found this company! I never thought I'd be able to afford services like this, and the fact that they take insurance is so helpful. Having the option to have one on one assistance in the comfort of my own home was a lifesaver. Diba has been nothing short of amazing when it comes to our lactation consults. I feel much more comfortable feeding my son, and I no longer feel guilt about the struggle to breastfeed. I now have the knowledge and tools to make feeding sessions work for us, and that was my focus. Without this service, I am not sure we would still be attempting to breastfeed, so I am so glad we called.
P.S.-The Infant CPR & Safety class was also very helpful. Now my husband and I feel more confident in case of an emergency. We are so appreciative of all of the classes offered here!
I am so happy I found My Pure Delivery and sought out Diba's help! She was very accommodating to get me in for an appointment and helped me tremendously with engorgement issues soon after I had my second baby. Can't thank her enough or say enough good things about my experience! I had seen other lactation consultants after my first baby and none compared to the care provided by Diba. The appointment did not feel rushed at all and she took the time to answer my questions in a non-demeaning manner. Like others mentioned, I too appreciated the follow up call. I highly recommend!!
I truly cannot thank Diba enough. She helped get us on the right track for breastfeeding our second baby. She was compassionate, caring, thorough, and so sweet. She spent almost 3 hours with us at our home to help us. I thought I had mastitis, but it was just blocked. She took her time to help us out and explained everything before and during the whole process which helped put us at ease. She helped not only me figure out things, but also took her time with our baby girl to make sure she was latching properly, checked for a tongue tie, weighed her before and after a feeding session, and even gave us some tools to help with the latching problems. Don't ever hesitate to call and ask for help. Breastfeeding is no easy task, but Diba makes it possible. She even called a few days after our session to see how things were going. She's amazing and I can tell she's def doing what she feels passionate about.
My husband and I aren't from Austin, but we were here for a few months right after our baby was born. She was struggling to regain her birth weight, which led us to discover that she had latch issues, transfer issues, and a lazy/weak suck. We found Diba through Google search, and I am so glad that we chose to schedule a consultation with her. She was immediately so kind and open, but also professional and knowledgeable. You can tell that she really loves babies and loves helping and supporting mamas. She helped us through our issues in two visits and two follow up phone calls. I also really appreciated the info she provided for insurance reimbursement. One of my favorite things about her services is the bi-monthly breast feeding support group she leads. It was so great to meet with other women going through similar struggles, hearing their advice and celebrating their successes. It's so invaluable to have that kind of support. Diba was my breastfeeding cheerleader. She listened to me when things were difficult, and celebrated with me when things got better. I would recommend Diba and her services to any mama struggling with breastfeeding issues of any kind.
Anyone planning on breastfeeding should call and setup a one on one consult before they leave the hospital. It is just that helpful. I was lucky to find My Pure Delivery and was very happy with the help they provided me and my daughter. She was not gaining weight and nursing constantly. Diba helped me with her latch and supplementing with SNS. Within just a few weeks her weight was up enough that the pediatrician recommended we stop supplementing. She is a month old and nursing like a pro!
Diba was the only person that really helped me and made me believe I could do this! Everyone at the hospital was really nice but they were not as patient, knowledgeable and clear as she is! Nurses came in and out of my room, I was struggling with breastfeeding and I was just very confused and discouraged as every person had a different approach. Ultimately, they were just not explaining to me, step by step, how to have a good latch and what I was doing wrong. I had cuts on my nipples and one nurse gave me a nipple shield, the other one gave me formula on my last day saying that my baby had lost a lot of weight and I should probably supplement! Of course I didn't need either, I just asked for Diba and after a few visits at the office with her, I was good with the whole process. I am really happy I followed her class before I had the baby, otherwise I would have probably given up as my friends did. Not so many people know that a lactation consultant can solve pretty much any trouble you have! It's definitely worth the money.
During the second trimester of pregnancy my OB and hospital recommended baby classes and I immediately signed up given I will be a first time mom. The classes I signed up for were Newborn Care, Infant CPR and Safety and Breastfeeding Basics, although many others are offered. I registered for them all though My Pure Delivery and they were taught by the NICU Nurse and Lactation Consultant Diba Tillery.
Each class is offered to the public and the class sizes are kept very small. You don't need to bring anything with you. Everything is provided: the hard copy powerpoint, note pages, pens, flyers, folders and even food and drinks! (However, I would recommend bringing a pen and paper for the free hour classes if you'd like to take notes). The classes are loaded with pertinent information and it's easy to ask questions at anytime. Diba is great at creating a laid back atmosphere that's unintimidating. The classes range in price but a form is given out that allows you to submit them to insurance for reimbursement.
As someone who has been around babies my whole life and who has cared for them I was still able to get vital information out of each class I've taken. I highly recommend them even if you're just brushing up on information.
My pure delivery also offers specialized lactation consultations (at home and on location) as well as a free support group that meets a few times a month. This location also has a wide range of products they sell and rent (skin balm, pumps, hospital necessities, nursing pillow, etc etc etc). Basically it's a one stop shop for mommy and me products, lactation help and everything baby! With the experienced and helpful staff you can't go wrong!
i felt so sad that it was being so dificult and i was about to give up , she was so professional and pacient with me and the baby loved the whole process
