Product Description

HOST A CLASS IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME!

Our classes are great for groups! Just pay the flat fee, and invite your family/friends to chip in. Parents, grandparents, babysitters, or anyone caring for your child can benefit from learning these important skills. The Host/Hostess will receive a binder with all the class materials and information for future reference. After registration, you will be contacted to set-up class dates & times according to your availability.

*travel fee will be added for distances greater than 25 miles from our Cedar Park office*

Choose from the following class options:

 

Infant CPR & Safety

Our Infant CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) & Safety Class is taught by a Registered Nurse and teaches preventative and life-saving information to parents and caregivers of infants up to 1 year of age. Parents will receive recommendations on how to make their home a safer place for their infant. Our Registered Nurse will demonstrate how to perform infant CPR using a mannequin and participants will be given an opportunity to practice infant CPR using a mannequin as well. This is a non-certification class. Mannequins and CPR supplies are provided.

 We will discuss:

  • Infant CPR
  • Infant Choking
  • Baby Proofing Your Home
  • Car Seat Safety

This class is about 2.5 - 3 hours in length so please wear comfortable clothes. Anyone caring for young infants are encouraged to attend this important class.

 

Infant Massage

Learn to calm and soothe your baby through nurturing touch. With nurturing touch you and your baby may feel more relaxed. Research also shows that babies who are massaged may:

  • Sleep deeper and longer;
  • Spend more time active and alert for learning
  • Increase bonding and attachments to their parents;
  • Improve digestion and colic symptoms.

Your class will be taught by Diba Tillery, Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant, Child Safety Expert, and Certified Educator of Infant Massage. You will learn:

  • Massage Strokes
  • Infant States & Cues
  • Colic & Gas Relief
  • Crying & Infant Communication
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Gentle Movements
  • Massaging the Older Child
  • Bonding & Attachment Theories

Hostess will receive:

  • Infant Massage Binder
  • Infant Massage Book
  • Organic Massage Oil

 

Newborn Care

Expecting a baby? Host our Newborn Class and be fully prepared for your little one. This class is taught by a Registered Nurse and teaches expectant parents who have little or no experience with babies about the basics of newborn care.This class is very interactive so be prepared to swaddle, burp, and diaper some baby dolls! We will discuss:

  • Newborn appearance
  • Newborn behavior & reflexes
  • What to expect in the hospital
  • Newborn testing procedures
  • How to choose a Pediatrician
  • Newborn baby care such as swaddling, soothing, diapering, bathing and feeding.
  • Newborn safety including shaken baby syndrome, sudden infant death syndrome, car seat safety, and when to call the Pediatrician

Hostess will receive:

  • A Taking Care of Baby Guide. A special code on the Parent Guide will allow you to access videos and information from home.
  • Folder with important breastfeeding handouts (feel free to make copies to share!)

Mothers should take this class early in their third trimester and partners are encouraged to attend. This class is about 2.5 - 3 hours in length so please wear comfortable clothes.

 

Breastfeeding Basics

Join our International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for an informative and interactive class on breastfeeding. Taking a breastfeeding class prenatally will help prepare you to achieve a successful breastfeeding experience. During the class, we will discuss: 

 

  • Advantages of breastfeeding 
  • Breast anatomy 
  • Proper latching technique 
  • How to position and hold your baby for a more comfortable breastfeeding experience 
  • How to establish a good milk supply 
  • How to know if your baby is getting enough to eat
  • How partners can participate in the breastfeeding experience 
  • Breastpumps 
  • Breastfeeding resources and support groups 
  • How to address the challenges of breastfeeding

 

Hostess will receive:

 

  • A Breastfeeding Parent Guide. A special code on the Parent Guide will allow you to access videos and information from home.
  • Folder with important breastfeeding handouts (feel free to make copies and share!)
